Abstract
It is important for science students to understand the basic concepts of statistical analysis and both linear regression and non-linear regression analysis of digital experimental data. Excel spreadsheets are often used by students for these purposes, but are limited in usage for scientists since Excel is designed for business purposes. Comparisons between Excel and Origin, a computer program designed for analysis of scientific data especially in non-linear analysis, shows that the Origin package works better than Excel for scientific analysis of data. In this poster we show the difference between the two software packages for evaluating digital data obtained by students in the laboratory and how the student can use digital data to obtain the original experimental figure.
