4 negatives, 5 images - One double portrait negative of a young woman with hair styled in a victory roll style. She is wearing a long sleeved, collared, pin striped top; she has a large contrasting, fabric bow with long ends tied at her neck. She has a lapel pin with a chain and "US". In another single portrait negative, it is seen that the woman is wearing a matching skirt and heels. She is sitting in an upholstered wooden chair. Her ankles are crossed, one hand is in her lap, and the other arm is resting on the arm of the chair. The last two negatives are single portraits of the young woman and another, older, woman. The other woman has her hair in the victory roll style. She is wearing a collared, buttoned shirt with a floral accessory at the neckline under a jacket with a large lapel. In one, the ladies are sitting next to each other with one woman's shoulder behind the other's shoulder. In the other, they are sitting sideways to the camera, one behind the other.
Original envelope reads "Mrs W. B. Scherling and sister 824 B st East Peggie Hillman 129 West 19 st 8/10 frame 3.50 Pd $1.75"; handwritten in upper left corner in pencil, "T. P."; handwritten in space at bottom in pencil, "250 85 [underline] 3.35 350 85 [underline] 445 175 [underline] 3.00".
