Description
This photo was taken during the construction of the John Mack Bridge, located at 2700 South Broadway. It was dedicated on July 22, 1931. It was named for John Mack who died during the construction of the bridge. He was a prominent newspaper publisher, state representative and member of the state highway commission for this district. The bridge was an example of the Rainbow Arch as well as the longest bridge in Kansas.
