Abstract
Purpose of the Study This author has taught on the junior high level and has an interest in the development of the aesthetic awareness of the junior high school student. It is felt that a research project concerned with such development might be beneficial to other teachers. The purpose of this study are: (1) to investigate the need for and the desirability of including programs of art understanding at the junior high school level; (2) to state suggestions and conclusions, based on classroom experimentation relative to a change in the students' aesthetic sensitivity; (3) to investigate the results of the Test of Art Attitudes developed by this author and compare it to the Test of Aesthetic Perception developed by Kieselbach.
