Abstract
The purpose of this study is to 1) evaluate the present
role of instrumental music in the Lutheran elementary school,
2) examine the structure of the school administrative system
and its effect on the adoption of the instrumental program,
3) weigh the values of instrumental instruction in a general
music program, and 4) formulate a well- balanced instrumental
music program within the curriculum and the administrative
structure of the Lutheran parochial school to meet the needs
of the Lutheran student.
