Wilner has chosen to play one of the leading male parts himself. p. 1 -- Staff members leave for Des Moines: Off at 6 a.m. this morning, bound for Des Moines, Iowa, and the Associated Collegiate Press Convention were these three Sunflower staff members pictured before an auto on the campus. They are accompanying Prof. Leo W. Allman, head of the journalism department, who is one of the speakers on the convention program. From left to right (above) are Sidney Martin, business manager; Catherine Dedrick, managing editor; and Sam Smith, editor-in-chief. Mrs. Allman will also accompany the group. p. 1 -- Dramatists rehearse wedding scene: Here is the wedding scene at the end of the second act of the University Players' prodcution, "Our Town," which plays its first night in the roles of Emily Webb and George Gibbs are the principals in this scene, with director George Wilner playing the part of "the minister." p. 1 -- Roth sells machines: With a summer's sales experience behind him Oliver Roth '39 is now serving as a salesman for the Wichita offices of Remington-Rand, Inc. p. 2 -- Indian summer inspires rustic feeling: The spirit of an approaching Halloween and the warmth of an Indian summer day lured these coeds outdoors to the rustic setting of shocks and pumpkins. Holding the pumpkin is Ramona Branson, Epsilon Kappa Rho, while Helen Drugaqn, Pi Kappa Psi watches. The roadster in the background belongs to Jerry Branson, Weber. p. 3 -- Honorary colonel: Senior officers of the R.O.T.C. last week at their annual election, chose Betty Calhoun as Honorary Colonel. p. 3 -- Gebert and staff plan attack: Head Coach Al Gebert explains that more victories are needed for the Shocker squad, and is shown as he maps out strategic moves for his squad in their game Saturday with Pittsburg.
