Abstract
In 1982 DRG's (Diagnosis Related Groups) attracted widespread national attention. Author predicted that the design of new DRG's, DRG pay- ment schemes will be a topic of many research that will explore the DRG payment for many settings, and the development of alternative case-mix classification systems that take into consideration short-comings of the current DRG system. The development of computerized case-mix management systems and computerized applications of DRG'S are also going to be hastened as more third party payers push for an all payers DRG system.
