Abstract

Fast and reliable concussion testing is critical for those that are injured. The digital app Sway could give medical professionals and sports officials more accessible means of quick concussion testing. Sway is an app that assesses many facets of a person's capabilities such as balance and cognitive abilities. The cognitive testing portion of the app has assessments in reaction time, impulse control, inspection time, and memory. These are all different areas of cognitive ability that concussions affect. Because of this notable overlap, this study aims to test Sway's reliability to detect concussions.
