Minnie and Dr. John R. Brinkley at political rally in Gordy Park, El Dorado, Kansas, July 16, 1931. Men in background unidentified. Children crowd along railings at right. Cropped image and brief article published in Wichita Beacon newspaper, July 17, 1931, page 1 (article) and page 4 (image). Photographer unknown. Brinkley, known for his controversial goat gland transplants and unconventional medical practice, ran as a write-in candidate for governor of Kansas in 1930, 1932 and 1934.
