Abstract
The invention provides a system, including an apparatus and method for neural regeneration in damaged neural cells or neural tissue. The system encourages axonal growth and neural cell migration to the injury site by applying unidirectional electric stimulation at the site of neural tissue damage to promote cellular migration through the damaged site, facilitated by an implanted neural conduit that covers neural tissue areas and/or bridges any gaps between damaged neural tissue segments.
