Abstract
The purpose of this review was to assess published literature of mental health literacy and women. The current review was conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta Analyses. Nineteen articles met inclusion criteria. The majority of studies were conducted in an international setting. Study sample size ranged from 25- 7,600 participants. The findings of this review highlight the importance of working to improve mental health literacy skills for women and highlight the need for a standardized screening tools. Future research includes additional assessments of mental health literacy and health outcomes as well as educational interventions.
