Abstract

This report is arranged in three parts. Part I is a study by H.J. Stewart of the design exercise based upon his -dual-optimumn techniques. Part II presents two WSU ROTOR design programs (single-optimum, with and without variable pitch, respectively). Part III presents a parametric study in the form of a series of WINDl3 computer results, which will compare the designs developed by the various optimization methods in Parts I and II: the validity of these design techniques will be investigated in light of the added parameter of annual energy production as the primary basis of comparison.
