Description
View looking slightly northeast at bridge over the Little Arkansas River between Twelfth and Thirteenth Streets on Bitting Avenue. The bridge was constructed in 1933 to replace a former, unsafe bridge. It was built with federal relief funds provided by the Civil Works Administration (CWA) during the Great Depression. The tower of Wichita High School North rises over the trees in the distant center background. The shadow of the photographer and his camera blend into the grass and shadows in the near foreground.
