Abstract
It is the purpose of this work, then, to investigate the stress intensification at the head-shell junction of pressure vessels with conical heads. The scope of the work has been limited to vessels with semiapex angles in the range of 60 to 90 degrees, with diameter to shell thickness ratios of 160, and shell-to-head thickness ratios of one.
