Abstract
The confactor rotational solution for the orthogonal case was estimated for possible use as an approximation to the more general oblique case. Two plasmodes were designed: one with seven variables and three factors and the other using 16 variables and six factors. In both plasmodes good rotational solutions were found when relatively small and moderate correlations existed among the factors. The Confactor rotational solutions for the orthogonal case was found to be a good approximation for the oblique case when the two parallel sets of data have the same correlations.
