Abstract
In the pages of this paper, I will attempt to account for my activities in painting and printmaking during the years 1960-1963. The paper will deal with ideas in the areas of both conception and technique that have recurred and evolved as manifest in certain thematic series during the time referred to in the title. There will be as direct a relationship as possible between the written statement and the work displayed during my graduate exhibition. This work will be reproduced herein, my intention being to enable the paper to stand as a unit. The unity of the paper will then result from a direct review of the work and a statement concerning the idea-images that have occurred in both my graphic work as well as my painting.
The paintings and prints will be selected for graduate exhibition before the beginning of the second semester and will be available for examination by my committee.
