Abstract
With the advent of the new technology, mobile communications has taken its popularity.
There are already many protocols for routing information. But application of those protocols is
not efficient for the mobile technology due to device limitations on power and memory. Several
researches in this field have suggested that that the knowledge of the location of a mobile
terminal can be used in order to reduce the cognitive burden on the users in context-aware
systems, also it is crucial information for routing in ad-hoc networks and for optimizing the
topology for minimizing the energy consumption of the nodes. This research focuses on the
transmit power control (TPC) of MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc Networks). The primary focus of this
research is to address the open issue on TPC proposed in [25] by incorporating a power efficient
design using the existing IEEE 802.11h standards. A new design is proposed by using
computational intelligence namely artificial neural networks to address the non linear issues of
mobility by tracking the location of mobile nodes to make TPC more efficient.
