Description
Park writes to his brother Guss in a lively manner describing vigilante justice in Sheridan, Kansas. Since his last letter, Park reports "four men shot and one hung" by vigilantes who are "gamblers and grog sellers." He writes about his monthly salary of 75 dollars as a clerk at a government depot. He also contrasts his imagined view of the plains to the "dry and bare" reality.
