Biographical Note: Cecil Byron Read, professor and head of the Department of Mathematics, worked at the University of Wichita from 1932 to the early 1960s. He earned an A.B. from Colorado College in 1927, an A.M. from Princeton University in 1928, an M.S. from the University of Colorado in 1935, and a Ph.D. from Colorado State College of Education in 1938.
Biographical note: Hanna, J. Ray, Professor of Mathematics, worked at the University of Wichita from 1941. He earned his B.S. in Education at Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia, 1939; a M.S., from the same college in 1940; and a Ph.D., from University of Colorado in 1956.
