Photograph(s): Dean's hope comes closer: Dean L. Hekhuis' plans for an all-faith chapel came a bit closer to reality when he received a new model and plans for the chapel last week. The chapel model is on display in the office of the College of Liberal Arts. p. 1 -- An estimated crowd of 500 University students and 600 downtown fans attended the Wichita-Tulsa game to watch the Shockers roll over the Golden Hurricanes, 33-19, and win the first Missouri Valley Conference championship in the history of the school. The Shockers' 'Cinderella team" ended the season with nine wins and one loss in all games played and won the Valley title with an undefeated record of conference games. This year's winning football team set many records for the school. Attendance for a single game and for the season set new records. Also the number of wins for the season and the number of points scored by the team set a new high. p. 1 -- Uncaptioned photograph of Cleo Littleton. p. 9 -- Wichita aerial: Shocker halfback Jim Kisanin leaps to snag a pass from quarterback Jack Conway in the Wichita-Tulsa Turkey Day tilt. Ben Noa (88), Tulsa end, makes a desperate try for the pass which led to a Wichita score in the second period of the game. Meeting a stubborn Tulsa squad, the Wheatshockers went on to take the game by a 33 to 19 score and win their first Missouri Valley grid crown. p. 9
