Description
Images show the book's front cover, spine, title page, examples of cosmographical details and instruments, and back cover. This popular early modern scientific text in Latin contains maps, devices to tell time and measure height and distance, and a number of rotating paper instruments with movable parts. Known as volvelles, these instruments were used to perform calculations to chart planetary positions, establish navigation positions, and map the globe.
