Abstract
We investigate propeller performance under steady and sinusoidally time-varying freestream velocity in an open-jet wind tunnel. Changes in thrust, power, pitching moment, and rolling moment observed with increase in propeller incidence angle under steady freestream was then used to predict response under sinusoidal time-varying freestream. At both low and high incidence angles, the propeller response agrees with the prediction, suggesting linear superposition and quasi-steady dynamics for reduced frequencies of up to 0.0796. © 2022, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Inc..
