Description
This contains three letters to Lady Heathcote from Ernest Perceval. The first one, dated February 1855, describes the arrival of the soldiers at Portsmouth, the occurence of a ''scrimmage'' with some prisoners. The second, dated February 11, 1855, concerns an account of what Perceval saw at Malta. This letter continues on February 15, and Perceval mentions his ship leaving Balaklava for a bay near Sevastopol. In the final letter, dated February 22, Perceval writes they camped near Balaklava. He describes the situation and the scenes around including the many nationalities. He describes another attack by Russians, which was repulsed.
