Shows named and unnamed roads, including Route from Missouri River to Gold Regions via Santa Fe Road, Fort Leavenworth and Santa Fe Road via Fort Riley, and Missouri River and Gold Regions via Kansas River Fort Riley and Smoky Hill Fort. Indicates Native American inhabitation. Includes illustration of portrait of George Washington which marks the Pottawattamie (sic) Reserve. Inset map: Routes from the Missouri River to the Kansas Gold Mines. Removed from Gunn's New map and hand-book of Kansas and the Gold Mines. Archaic county names and boundaries in Kansas. Shows proposed Leavenworth & Platte City Railroad and proposed Parkville & Grand River Railroad.
