Abstract
Considerable effort has been made by aeronautical research organizations and industry during the last decade to find suitable experimental flight test methods for the evaluation of the dynamic characteristics of an aircraft. The reference material which culminated from this effort was reviewed with the following objectives:
- To determine the present state of the art of dynamic stability flight testing from a literature survey.
- To document selected methods in a form suitable for introducing a flight test organization to the concepts of dynamic stability testing.
- To investigate applicability of these techniques to the B-52 airplane.
The results of this study were formulated into this thesis.
