Smith. p. 1 -- Honorary colonel meets colonel: Persis Bonjour, unaffiliated senior in the College of Fine Arts, was elected the 1947 Honorary Colonel by members of the Reserve Officers Training Corps on the campus. Miss Bonjour will be presented to the unit at a military ball in December. Honorary Colonel Bonjour, left, talks things over with Col. B. T. Beeler, professor of military science and tactics. p. 1 -- Mrs. Peter Rankin: Bride of the month. p. 2 -- Maxine Moore is chairman of the all-school varsity, sponsored by Alpha Tau Sigma sorority, Saturday from 9 p.m. until midnight in the men's gym. p. 3 -- Two University roads were blocked Monday as University students celebrated a 38-6 victory by the Shockers over St. Louis. The automobile blockade at the Fairmount entrance is pictured. p. 4 -- Harold Carey entertains approximately 75 persons daily in the Commons Lounge. Playing the piano is just a hobby with Carey, but he's got a lot of students bragging about his talent of making the "piano talk". Carey is pictured at the piano with several unidentified University students listening to one of his sentimental numbers. p. 5 -- Two talented quarterbacks of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, who will see action against the Shockers Saturday in Veterans Field are Tom Cole, kicking, and Mel Olix, holding. p. 8 -- Shocker grid stars were all smiles as they boarded a Missouri Pacific train for St. Louis last Friday night, but those smiles were much bigger upon their return after trouncing the Missouri city are from left, Paul Houser, Jimmy Nutter, Linwood Sexton, and Marvin Campbell. p. 10 -- Tulsa alumni met with Wichita alumni during the annual University booster trip to Tulsa, Okla., recently.
