Abstract
Statement of Problem. As previously mentioned, there has been little investigation of the effectiveness of the TAT in identifying the potential juvenile delinquent. To this writer's knowledge, no study of the nature proposed has been attempted in the metropolitan Wichita, Kansas area. It was not known to what extent the TAT could be effective in the identification of potential delinquents in the public schools of
this area. Therefore, this study was designed to answer the following question: Are there any differences in feelings and motivations at a preconscious level, as measured by the TAT, using the Kaiser Foundation
scoring method, between adjudicated juvenile delinquents and non-delinquent junior high school students?
