Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive framework
disclosing the concepts and risks involved in the management of cash.
The critical evaluation of cash management techniques will not disclose
any "magic" formula for the management of cash, rather the evaluation seeks
to expose critical variables (and the treatment of those variables) involved
in the management of cash. This is only logical since each firm is unique
in and of itself; it possesses particular resources, technology, and
talent which must be matched against the opportunities of its environment.
Further, it is recognized that overtime resources change along with changes
in the environment. As such, any techniques used must be modified to "fit"
the unique firm; and with the passing of time and events the modified
techniques will need to be revised!
