Photograph(s): Spotlighting the campus: Paul Henrion, '18, president of the Alumni Association, is this week urging all University graduates to attend the forthcoming Homecoming celebrations now being planned by faculty, alumni and student committees. p. 1 -- Mary Evelyn Brincefield, senior, will reign over all Homecoming festivities Saturday. Her majesty is a member of the Barb organization, is vice president of the Y.W.C.A. and president of Matrix, honorary journalism sorority. p. 1 -- Douglas Nunn, senior, has been chosen by Miss Brincefield as her escort. He will escort the Queen to the Homecoming football game, to the Webster dinner to be given in her honor, and to the varsity Saturday evening. Mr. Nunn is a Pi Alpha Pi. p. 1 -- Katherine Israel, senior, and recently elected Honorary Colonel, is chairman of the Student Council Homecoming committee. She is a member of the Alpha Tau Sigma sorority. p. 1 -- Arthur Kallet, co-author of the non-fiction book, "100,000,000 Guinea Pigs," will be the first speaker presented on this year's Student Forum series,which begins Wednesday, Nov. 16. p. 1 -- Students look on as S. C. Brennan, chairman of the Univesity Board of Regents broke the ground formally, beginning the construction of the new $120,000 University Library. Roy W. Elliott (left) comptroller, and W. M. Jardine, (right), president, aided in the ceremonies. Other dignitaries present were: Otto Souders, member of the Board of Regents; Ed Forsbloom, architect; W. P. Swanson, WPA representative. p. 1 -- Marsh back for Homecoming: Last year's Homecoming Queen, Virginia Marsh, who is now teaching music in the Carmen, Okla. public schools is expected to be among the throng of former Wichita U-ites who return to campus this week-end. p. 2 -- Cies on committee: Mary Cies, ex-Honorary Colonel of 1937, is working on the alumni committee for Homecoming. Mary Cies is employed at the Morgan Acid Incorporated, where is has worked since her graduation in 1937. p. 2 -- Glades in Chiago: John Glades, former Barb president and graduate of 1938, was one of seven college students who attended the dinner of the Chicago Area Project on the occasion of the publication of "Brothers in Crime," first of a series of volumes arising out of research work in various communities of the city. p. 2 -- Hite with Kansas: Kathleen Hite, '38, and now is working as continuity writer for broadcaster KANS. Miss Hite is past president of Sorosis sorority and was a prominent member of the Sunflower staff. p. 2 -- Beebe in Washington: John Beebe, '37, is now attending George Washington University in Washington, D.C. His address is 2121 New York Avenue, Northwest Apartment 503, Washington D.C. p. 2 -- President Jardine's new home. p. 3 -- "Welcome Grads": In the greeting of these girls for Homecoming next Saturday. The are, top row, left to right, Dorothy Strickland, June Illgner, Margaret Alexander, Jean Braley, Avenelle Clark, Jane Schnitzler, and Jeanne Lewis. Bottom row, left to right, Dorothy Toland, Ruth Williams, Martha Barrett, Katherine Israel, and Mary Jean Shaft. p. 5 -- "Two Ton Tony" Lokamp, who performs at the tackle position for the Emporia State Hornets, is one of the most feared men in the conference.
