Abstract
In this account of the life of one of the pioneers and founders of Wichita, I have attempted to depict some of the characteristics which were necessary for the success of the pioneer fathers and some of the hardships and troubles which had to be conquered in order that a new country might be opened to settlement. The story of the founding of Wichita illustrates the personalities of the founders of the town and the impetus which they gave it which has continued to the present day.
