Abstract
In the upcoming field of e-mobility, roof-mounted solar cell systems are used to operate the thermoelectric system, compressors for maintaining the cabin temperature and also to extend the cruising range of electric vehicles. Managing and maintaining the voltage output is crucial. Intelligent DC-DC converters can improve the overall efficiency of the solar cells. The inbuilt intelligence in the converter will manage the output voltage depending on the load and the solar power output. This work proposes a closed-loop single-switch DC-DC power converter with inbuilt charging state control intelligence. The proposed singleswitch, high-voltage gain converter is developed applying modified diode inductor capacitor cells to a conventional boost converter. The operation principle of the proposed converter was analyzed. Simulation results are presented to validate the theoretical results. Based on the simulation results the proposed controller can maintain the output voltage at the required level with respect to the changes in load and generation.
