Description
Newspaper clipping on the Know Nothing National Convention. The article covers events that unfolded during the convention, including an outburst by a man accusing a Massachusetts delegate of leaking information to the New-York Tribune, and the ''Appeal to the People,'' affirming four principles including spiritual freedom, free Bibles, and free schools, and to ''invoke the arm of legislation to arrest that growing evil, the deportation by foreign authorities of paupers and convicts to our shores.''.
