Aviator Laura Ingalls in her Lockheed monoplane at the Wichita Municipal Airport on July 13, 1931. She was on her way to New York where she hoped to become first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean, a feat later accomplished by Amelia Earhart in May 1932.
