Walter Duerksen, faculty chairman; Charles Dunn, varsity chairman; and Max Milbourn who handles publicity. Paul Henrion, chairman of the alumni committee was unable to be present for the picture. These Men of Webster pledges show how fraternities plan to gather wood for tomorrow night's gigantic bonfire. They started by cleaning their garage first. Pictured from the left are Sid Ginns, Charles Hall, Max Davis, Burt Ross, and Pat Fry. President Jardine beams a hearty thanks as he accepts an invitation to the Roundup Varsity, Saturday night, from Mildred Hall. Henri Clayton Staples (left), a varsity sponsor, watches approvingly since this will mark one of Dr. Jardine's rare appearances at the school's varsities. p. 1 -- Chance is lone aviatrix: Mary Chance is the only girl to take to the air in the Universities' [sic] new class in air training. Shown here with Instructor Lloyd McJunkins, Miss Chance is adding to her aeronautical knowledge gained by many previous hours of flying. She is a junior and active in sports. p. 1 -- Ver Wiebe in Ohio: Eugenia Ver Wiebe, '38, is now associated with the board of education of Ohio in Columbus. p. 2 -- Honor grad with Coleman's: Charles Kinsey, '38 honor graduate, writes that he as a position in the purchasing department of the Coleman Lamp Company here. p. 2 -- Richard Gavitt. p. 3 -- Shockers 'turn western' as they prepare to roundup old grads: Just to get into the spirit of the Homecoming theme, Blue Key fraternity members Fred Evans, Jo Hesse and Dean Worden invited coeds Blanche McGlade and Catherine McCarthy to visit the Bridle and Saddle Club east of the city. They are shown as they appeared at the corral gate. Campus Greek organizations are preparing to stage their most colorful parties of the year for alumni members who will return to visit the chapter houses.
