Description
Images show the manuscript's rebound front cover, spine, both sides of the first leaf of the manuscript, including an elaborately decorative capital D on the reverse side, and the rebound back cover. Additional images display four examples of different writing styles, particularly evident in the capital letter Q. This 10th or 11th century Latin manuscript is a copy of Augustine's handbook to Laurence, Enchiridion ad Laurentium. Augustine, the eminent 4th century bishop, theologian, and scholar, was responding to Laurence's questions on faith, hope, and love. The text was copied and hand colored by several scribes on vellum.
