Description
This incomplete letter to William H. Isely from Nathan J. Morrison regards hiring Dr. Borgquist coming to Fairmount College as psychology professor. The "N. E." is "done" with the West and the influx of immigrants from Europe, Canada, China, and Japan "alarmed" North East Congregationalists and they said "all our missionary efforts must now be directed to saving ourselves." Morrison "showed Sage the Eagle pictures of the R.C. Cathedral and Mount Carmel School and explained what the R.C.s are trying to do." Morrison requests that Isely send a copy of the Eagle containing all the pictures to Dr. Sage, Secretary of General Education Board, stating "these Catholic pictures and oral explanations by me are my most efficient arguments" in an effort to raise funds. Morrison intends to be home by the first week of March.
