Fatigue tests in general are run under sinusoidal loading cycles of constant amplitude. The objective of this thesis is to design a fatigue testing machine using nonsinusoidal cycles, and to show its applicability by substantiating experimentally the hypothesis by Luthander and Wallgren. This hypothesis states a method for calculation of fatigue life of a structure.
