Minutes: Summary of action: 1. The Senate approved two nominations by the Rules Committee – Roy Myose, At Large Tenure & Promotion Committee (3 yr appt), Ikram Ahmed, Library Committee (2yr appt) -- 2. The Senate unanimously approved the "sense of the Senate resolution limiting outside presentations to 15 minutes -- 3. The Senate unanimously defeated the "sense of the Senate resolution" for a procedure holding votes over to the coming meeting -- (Informal statements and proposals): 1. Introduction of Twyla Hill, new member of Senate / Senator Matson -- 2. Mr. Drew Sell introduced himself as the SGA representative to the Senate -- 3. Questions about possible availability of the University Directory and the Undergraduate Catalogue only through the University's Web site / Senator Quantic -- (President's report): 1. No change in the policy about external reviews or any change in interpretation of policy -- 2. Invitation to meet with him in Senate office on Mondays -- 3. Regents to meet with Council of Faculty Senate Presidents September 18 and 19 -- 4. Planning and Budget Committee to meet Wednesday -- 5.
