Description
Report was prepared in November 1966 for the Wichita State University Alumni Association by Oblinger & Smith, planning consultants and landscape architects. Its aim is to "establish policies on the character of the WSU campus for the future, and to select certain areas that will be reserved for important outdoor space as it relates to established conditions that will not change appreciably." It references the 1958 Master Plan by Schaefer and Shirmer, and recommends strategically located sitting areas. certain plantings, emphasis on "sun control" in new building design and elimination of auto traffic on streets running through campus. Maps on pp. 13, 14 and 16 are labeled "improvement plan," "projected campus pattern" and "landscape development western core area."
