Abstract
The purpose of this present work was to: (l) establish conditions for the conversion of fatty hydroxamic acids to the methyl esters of the corresponding carboxylic acids and (2) analyze hydroxamic acid mixtures by gas chromatographic analysis of the methyl esters resulting from such treatment. In order to do this, it was necessary to prepare several. pure hydroxamic acids.
