Photograph(s): Charles is queen: Vivacious Betty Ruth Charles, Sorosis candidate, was yesterday selected 1941 queen of the Wichita Transportation System. p. 1 -- Wheaties to vote April 17: Tommy Hartman, Pi Kappa Psi, and Virginia Lee Williams, Sorosis, are candidates for the presidency of Wheaties, women's pep club. The election will be held next Thursday morning in the rotunda of the Administration Building. p. 1 -- Frances Anderson: Miss Anderson is president of Pi Kappa Psi, a member of student council, Wheaties, Wheaties board, and has also been secretary of her sorority. She is a member of the Shocker party. p. 1 -- Lorraine Melcher: Miss Melcher is vice-president of Sorosis, a member of W.R.A., vice-president of the Newman club, secretary of the home economics club, and treasurer of Alpha Epsilon commercial sorority. She is a member of the Campus party. p. 1 -- Gerald Branson: Mr. Branson is president of Phi Lambda Psi and is a member of Whock Club and Alpha Phi Omega, scouting fraternity. He has also been a member of the Men's Pan Hellenic council. He is a member of the Campus party. p. 1 -- Malcolm Nicholson: Mr. Nicholson is president of Phi Upsilon Sigma, a member of men's glee club, Minisa Chorus, A Capella Chorus, and the university men's quartet. He has been a member of Pan Hellenic council and has been president and vice-president of Y.M.C.A. He is a member of the Young Republicans club, University Players, and Blue Key, and is also active in intramural sports. He is a member of the Shocker party. p. 1 -- Vote for Frances Anderson for May Queen; vote for Malcolm Nicholson for chancellor. p. 2 -- Higginson. p. 2 -- Krug officer: Orland Harry Krug, '40, is an officer at Jefferson City Barracks in Missouri. At the university M. Krug was a member of Pi Alpha Phi fraternity, and graduated from the College of Liberal Arts. p. 2 -- Bunnies won't tell: These two early Easter egg hunters, Jean Kindel and Margaret Noble, gaze with amazement on what "Stoop" of the bacteriology department has evidently laid just to get into Easter spirit. Oh well, rabbits will be rabbits. p. 3 -- Betty Ruth Charles, Sorosis sorority: Miss Betty Ruth Charles, whose good qualities typify the service of the Transportation company, was chosen from a group of six university girls, one representing the I.S.A. and each of the campus sororities. Selection was made by six of the city's outstanding citizens at a luncheon in honor of the girls, in the Sunflower Grill of the Hotel Lassen at noon yesterday. Judging was based on personality, beauty, voice, posture, hands and hair and was unusually difficult because all organizations had such outstanding candidates representing them this year. p. 3 -- Mandle. p. 4 -- Looking 'em over: With over 75 candidates for B.D.O.C. to consider, Betty Jane Roberts, Sorosis, Frances Anderson, Pi Kap, Florence Fitzwilliam, Kappa Rho, Rose Marie Marshall, D.O., and Jean Braly, Alpha Tau, are digging into the task of selecting B.D.O.C. for 1941. The girls, presidents of their sororities, are the impartial judges of Harvey Bros., third annual B.D.O.C. contest. Their final choice will be given $50 in clothing by the Harvey Clothing Co. p. 4
