Williams, Virginia Kay and Kathy A. Downes (2010). Assessing your vendors' viability. The Serials Librarian, 59:313–324

Librarians are careful when initially selecting major vendors; however, good stewardship demands that libraries continue to assess their vendors’ financial health throughout the relationship. This article discusses the risks that vendor financial difficulties pose to library operations and recommends methods for librarians to monitor vendor viability.
