Description
This letter dated August 21, 1852 contains details on the first page concerning H. D. Smith's travel plans, business affairs, and family matters. The letter also mentions a railroad project in upper New York around Watertown, East Dodge, and Rome. On the following pages was written another letter by ''George'' to ''Friend Bower.'' The letter was accidentally opened by H. D. Smith. The sender of the letter refers to John B. Smith as ''Doug'' and marks on the back of the letter ''Confidential.'' The letter gives details of a trip that ''George'' and a friend took.
