Abstract
This thesis presents an analysis of the transverse
vibrations of a spinning annular elastic membrane which is
restrained from transverse, but not radial, displacements
by a central hub. A method for calculation of the eigenvalues
and eigenfunctions. using an infinite power series
representation is shown. The eigenvalues are calculated
and plotted for cases of the first four nodal circles, the
first four nodal diameters, a range of the ratio of inner
hole radius to disk radius of from 0.1 to 0."8, and a
range in the ratio of hub radius to disk radius of from
0.2 to 0.9. The minimum hub radius for a given configuration
is governed by the ratio of the hole to disk radius. A
discussion of the Fortran program used to calculate the
plotted data is also included.
