Description
Pages 52-70 of Mitchell's maritime journal. These pages contain a travel log of different sites Mitchell visited while in Peru. There was great activity going on in Callao and Lima getting ready for the Peruvian Centennial with carpenters, plasterers, and painters. In Lima, a statue of San Martin would be unveiled. Mitchell stayed at the famous Hotel Maury on the west coast and went on to Mollendo, the second largest port of Peru. He ends his log by writing about the Peruvian railways.
