Photograph(s): "Give 'em hell, Shockers!": Cheerleaders Cindy Bowers, Sandy Hamm, and Carol [Mohrbacker] stir up excitement at the airport Saturday morning as the Shocker basketball squad takes off for the National Invitational Tournament at New York City's Madison Square Garden. p. 1 -- Student polling: WSU students had an opportunity Friday to vote for the May Queen. Two Shockers take advantage of the polling held in the Wilner Auditorium lounge. p. 2 -- CCUN delegates: Recently these WSU students and faculty returned from the Collegiate Council to the United Nations in St. Louis. Bottom row: Carolyn Ramey, Bob Shields, Dave Crockett, and Fred Funk. Top row: Rudy Nydegger, Tim Cornett, Bob Glenn, and Dr. Peter Mayer. p. 3 -- Student "raps" editorial": The Sunflower's Friday editorial opened with the allusion, "Have you ever tried to nail Jell-O to the wall?" It appears that one conscientious student, feeling motivated to display the depth of his comprehension, took issue with the editorial's challenge and, using his head, hammered his point home quite pointedly. However, whether the flavor printed on the box selected by the budding young carpenter was irrelevent or, perhaps, reflected his opinion of a) the editorial, b) the editor, or c) himself, is still a mystery. p. 4 -- Dr. Edward N. Lorenz. p. 6 -- Mrs. William Lear. p. 7
