Abstract

The primary objective of this study was to investigate the effects of migration from an urban renewal project upon the social status of the families involved. The question which guided the design of the study was: Has the social status of those families who are displaced by an urban renewal project been improved or lowered? An urban renewal clearance project executed in Wichita, Kansas, in 1960-1961 was -the specific ease to which this question was directed.
