Fourteen of the more than 50 alumni actively working in the campaign are pictured here. Orchesis is the campus dance sorority. p. 3 -- Replaces Comp: Dave Hart, the halfback from Hannibal, Mo., has the task of filling the shoes of the renowned Irv Comp, St. Benedict's star, who is suffering from an injured shoulder and may not play against the shockers Saturday. Hart is a left half, and weighs but 153 pounds. His ability, however, makes him a dangerous ball-lugger. p. 4 -- Jones. p. 4 -- Shocker halfback set to go: Earl Grandy, great triple threat halfback of the Shockers, whose talents for passing, running and kicking helped lead the Wichita crew to a victory over the University of Dayton last week, and who will start at left half against St. Benedict's, Saturday in the opening home game of the 1940 season for the Shockers. p. 4 -- Rugged Raven starting end: A 210 pound end who is regarded as one of the best defensive stars on a strong St. Benedict's squad is Wojciechowski, a husky from Hammond, Indiana. Wojciechowski is certain to start at the right end position Saturday. p. 4 -- St. Benedict's halfback: One of the veteran backfield stars of Coach Don Elser's Ravens is Don McKeever, a 165-pound senior who is playing his last year for St. Benedict's. Don hails from Englewood, N.J., and is a left half. p. 4
