Abstract
The mainstream of my work lies in the area of printmaking with corresponding interests in drawing and painting. In my work, environmental situations, personal attitudes, people and places and events I have encountered in the past two years dominate the range of my subject matter. I have at times recalled settings out of the past century which are, to me, both charming and ridiculous. The technical aspects of painting and printmaking have been incorporated in order to emphasize and penetrate the image. The interpretive possibilities of a head, landscape or still life provided the stimulus needed to explore their true meaning. Expressive realism contained by the abstract qualities of formal space and a direct approach toward subject and materials is the attitude of my work.
