Abstract
Dr. Andrew Hinsdale Fabrique was the medical pioneer, a man of strong character and remarkable achievement. The primary aim of this thesis has been to produce
an accurate account of the life of Dr. Fabrique. But in the second place, because this doctor played so prominent a role in the medical history of southern Kansas, the author has
woven the story of the rise and development of the medical profession in this vicinity into the account of his life. In addition, many facts of pioneer history have been presented
as being relevant to the scene of Dr. Fabrique's activity.
